NRB FACT FINDING MISSION + SOLIDARITY TOUR

ISRAEL

SUPPORTED BY THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT PRESS OFFICE

MAY 22nd - MAY 28th, 2024

  • Can I drink tap water in Israel?
Tap water is safe to drink in Israel, but bottled water is also available for purchase. We encourage you to bring a reusable bottle for your trip.
  • Is There a Minimum (or Maximum) Age to Participate?
No, but we recommend this trip for those no younger than middle school and for those who can easily handle walking approximately 2-3 miles a day, some of which is on unpaved paths and up and down centuries old streets in the Old City of Jerusalem. (Please note that children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.)
  • Will there be access to WIFI?
Yes, you will have free Wi-Fi on the buses and in some hotels. Many cafes and restaurants also offer complimentary Wi-Fi. Some hotels will have Wi-Fi available for hotel guests at customary prices.
  • How Safe Is Traveling to Israel?
While Israel is still in an ongoing war, your safety is a top priority. We use various measures to ensure the safety of participants, but we also encourage participants to take precautions they normally would when traveling to another city or country.
  • Am I Required to Purchase Travel Insurance?
Travel insurance is not required but is strongly recommended.
  • When should I book my flight to arrive/depart?
We recommend you follow the arrival and departure guidelines set by Premier Israel. If you purchase your own flight to and from Tel Aviv, you must arrive at the Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) between 7AM - 10AM on May 7, 2025. Shuttles run from 9AM - 11AM, times dependent on flight schedules. For departure, there will be one group shuttle to the airport on May 16th in the evening. Please make your departure flights no sooner than 10PM. Jackson Travel - israel@jacksontravel.com - is the preferred provider for Premier Vacations & Events.
  • Who is invited to go on this trip?
Anyone from anywhere can go with us!
  • Whom Do I Contact If I Have Questions?
*Misti Wiggins at mwiggins@GroundworksMinistries.com or Premier Call Center: 800-889-5265
  • What Kind of Weather Should I Expect?
Average high temperatures in May range from the mid-70s to mid-80s, with little precipitation.
  • Which credit cards are accepted?
American dollars are accepted in many places in Israel; however, in most cases, change will not be available. We would recommend bringing $1 bills for small items. You can also use your credit/debit card to obtain Shekels at ATMs throughout Israel. Most Israeli hotels, restaurants, and stores accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa cards as well.
  • Do I need to bring any special clothing or other items?
We will provide a list of recommended items and clothing to all trip participants before our tour. Please plan to bring comfortable shoes or sneakers, as there will be a lot of walking. For women, knees and shoulders must be covered at Holy sites.
  • How much walking do I need to be prepared for?
Most activities will include walking. We would recommend wearing comfortable shoes or sneakers each day. Most walks will be light to moderately strenuous, and there will be daily breaks as needed. Please keep in mind that walks can typically include steps and uneven terrain. Some sites could be difficult to fully experience if there are physical disabilities with walking long distances or problems with uneven terrain.
  • Will I need to bring a power adapter?
Most hotel rooms are equipped with hairdryers, and all have shaver sockets. For other appliances, Israel’s electricity is 220V A/C, single phase 50-cycles; 110V-220V transformers can be used. Israeli outlets have three prongs, but European two-prong adapters usually work. We suggest bringing a converter and adapter for any of your devices.
  • What Documentation Is Necessary for Travel to Israel?
A valid passport with an expiration date no less than 6 months after the return date of the trip is required. There are no exceptions to this policy. A travel visa is not required.
  • Will I be able to use my cell phone while in Israel?
Please check with your phone service provider to determine if you will need to purchase an International plan to use your phone in the country. What's App is a widely used communication app while in Israel and can be downloaded prior to arrival.
  • What medical preparations do I need to take?
We encourage you to inform your health insurance provider that you will be traveling out of the country and to determine your coverage and medical care options while in Israel. There are no specific immunizations or medications that are recommended or required for travel to Israel, but you are welcome to connect with your primary care physician regarding their recommendations for you individually. Please keep in mind that you can buy the equivalent of most standard over-the-counter medicines in Israel.
  • How can I register more than three people in my family/group?
To register more than three guests, you will need to complete more than one reservation, as each reservation only includes one hotel room. Please get in touch with PREMIER directly for more information about booking multiple reservations as a family/group.
  • Will I Get Any Pre-Trip Preparation Info and Recommended Reading Materials?
Yes. Beginning a month before we leave, you'll be provided with a weekly scripture and prayer guide, packing recommendations and suggested reading material. Feel free to get a head start now! *If you're interested in getting excited about the trip, read Finding Jesus in Israel by Buck Storm. *If you're interested in digging into the Jewish/Old Testament foundations of the Christian faith, read The Forgotten Jesus: How Western Christians Should Follow an Eastern Rabbi by Robby Gallaty *If you're interested in better understanding the complexities and challenges of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, read Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor by Yossi Klein Halevi. *We also highly recommended that you watch HOPE IN THE HOLY LAND: Delving Beneath the Surface of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, an award-winning documentary co-created & produced by Justin Kron, Steve Wiggins' dear friend and brother in Yeshua. American dollars are accepted in many places in Israel; however, in most cases, change will not be available. We would recommend bringing $1 bills for small items. Please keep in mind that you can buy the equivalent of the most standard over-the-counter medicines in Israel.
